The Consultative Group Decision (kG)

Here a group decides. This is either the whole organisation or only a part of it, e.g. the department of which I am a member.

Procedures of this method always use an explicit proposal and downstream voting phase and alternatives are eliminated, new ones added or even modified by integrating the objections (so-called “objection integration”). This is the big difference with the operational group decision. This method aims at a high consensus or even basic consensus. (See also consenT).

This method is used for alternatives that are qualitatively rich, i.e. involve a bundle of aspects (we also speak of “mightiness”), or affect each individual to such an extent that an individual veto seems reasonable (in contrast to the group veto of the oG - see also KonsenS vs KonsenT).
